About the brand
The brand is in the digital marketing space, currently focused on increasing traffic and building a loyal following to eventually monetize the website.
The Challenge
The website had started as a multi-niche blog covering 4 unrelated niches. And the publishing frequency was a single mediocre post every 8 months or so. So no movement in traffic whatsoever.

My Role
I created and implemented the on-page SEO strategy from keyword research to building content briefs. I also managed the writers, publishers and reviewed each piece of content before it went live.
The Approach
First, we niched down to one topic – digital marketing. So we removed all other unrelated topics from the website and 410’d them.
We then started posting 1 high-quality blog post every week and started seeing some movement.

However, the website’s design and speed were not doing us any favors. So we redeveloped the website and went for a custom theme with no clutter. This improved the website speed and even better, the brand image.

After launching the new look, we realized that all the urls had to change. So we had to 301 old urls and submit the new urls for indexing. At this point, the website trend was pretty much up and down with no real progress.

No problem, it only meant we were starting the campaign again.
After cleaning up the site, we slammed it with high-quality pillar posts and cluster posts. And then we kept a consistent publishing schedule of one post per week. That’s how we moved from hundreds to thousands.

The site has been on an upward trend consistently.

Better still, we’ve also increased the number of returning users.
